Guidance for patients during the covid-19 pandemic
While we are still dealing with the coronavirus pandemic we have made some changes to the clinic for your safety and to ensure we are covid-19 secure. Please read this document prior to attending your appointment.
Key points
We are open for face to face consultations. If you do not consider your symptoms in need of face to face assessment then we are also offering the option of remote appointments via telephone and video.
Do not attend the clinic if you have covid-19 or any symptoms suggestive of covid-19. This includes a new or continuous cough, cold, fever/temperature, loss or smell or taste.
On arrival to the clinic, if you prefer then you can remain in your car or feel free to use the waiting room. Either way your clinician will check both places at your appointment time and will fetch you in from the car park if required.
At the time of your appointment please take time to use the hand sanitizer before entering the clinic room.
During any close physical examination your clinician will be wearing a mask.
There is no requirement for patients to wear masks.
The clinical areas will be cleaned thoroughly between patients.
If you are deemed to be clinically vulnerable then please do not attend unless you feel it absolutely necessary. You may wish to consider a remote appointment in the first instance. The government guidance for clinical vulnerability is listed below.
- aged 70 or older (regardless of medical conditions)
- under 70 with an underlying health condition listed below (that is, anyone instructed to get a flu jab each year on medical grounds)
- chronic (long-term) mild to moderate respiratory diseases, such as asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), emphysema or bronchitis
- chronic heart disease, such as heart failure
- chronic kidney disease
- chronic liver disease, such as hepatitis
- chronic neurological conditions, such as Parkinson’s disease, motor neurone disease, multiple sclerosis (MS), or cerebral palsy
- diabetes
- a weakened immune system as the result of certain conditions, treatments like chemotherapy, or medicines such as steroid tablets
- being seriously overweight (a body mass index (BMI) of 40 or above)

If you have any questions regarding any of the above information then please let us know immediately. .
